Meet Adam Rubin: Leading Tungco’s Global Expansion from Montreal to the World

In the specialized world of tungsten carbide reclamation, few professionals combine technical expertise with genuine relationship-building quite like Adam Rubin. As Tungco’s newly appointed Director of Global Sales & Procurement, Adam brings nearly a decade of industry experience and a uniquely personal approach to an increasingly global business.

From 74 Alloys President to Global Director

Adam’s journey at Tungco began almost ten years ago, where he most recently served as President of 74 Alloys, Tungco’s specialized tungsten alloys division. This experience gave him deep insights into the technical aspects of tungsten products and the diverse industries that depend on them—from aerospace and energy to healthcare and automotive manufacturing.

In his new role as Director of Global Sales & Procurement, Adam is positioned at the heart of Tungco’s international expansion. “We’ve really expanded our reach from Europe to Asia,” Adam explains. “We are now a global company, and every time we do business with any place in the world, we don’t have a hiccup at all.”

Understanding 74 Alloys and Tungco’s Ecosystem

74 Alloys represents one of several specialized divisions within the Tungco family of companies. Founded in 2014 by Chairman Steve Nance, 74 Alloys focuses specifically on tungsten alloy products, complementing Tungco’s core business of tungsten carbide reclamation and raw feed supply.

This strategic diversification allows Tungco to serve the complete tungsten supply chain—from reclaiming thousands of tons of tungsten scrap generated by oil and gas, machining, thermal spray, aerospace, and manufacturing industries, to providing specialized alloy products for high-performance applications.

The Personal Touch in a Global Industry

What sets Adam apart in the tungsten industry is his commitment to personal relationships. “Trade shows are a great opportunity to get in front of our suppliers and customers in one space,” he notes, “but it’s also about getting to know your supplier personally, knowing their family, knowing about their kids. That’s something special that we try to achieve—not just doing the business.”

This relationship-first approach aligns perfectly with Tungco’s core values and their belief that “your word matters” in an industry where trust and reliability are paramount.

Montreal: A Strategic Home Base

Based in Montreal, Adam brings a unique perspective to Tungco’s global operations. Montreal’s position as a bilingual, international city provides strategic advantages for global business relationships. “Everybody around Montreal speaks two languages here,” Adam shares, “so they will speak to you in French or English.”

The city’s vibrant culture and business-friendly environment make it an ideal base for international operations. Adam’s deep roots in Montreal—he’s “born and raised” there and turning 50 this year—give him authentic local connections while maintaining global reach.

Balancing Professional Success with Family Values

Beyond his professional achievements, Adam exemplifies the work-life balance that many in demanding industries strive to achieve. A devoted family man, he’s married to Sidra, whom he describes as “the heart and soul of our family for 20 years.” Together, they’re raising two exceptional sons: Dylan, 17, a 6’5″ D1 basketball player, and their 14-year-old, Brody, a D1 hockey player and assistant captain of his team this year. Both are honor roll students, reflecting the family’s commitment to excellence in all areas.

“With all the time that we spend with our boys, we don’t always get the chance to get some time together,” Adam reflects about time with his wife, “but when we do, we love going out for dinner together. Great spots in Montreal to have dinner, and wouldn’t want to spend it with anyone else.”

The Future of Global Tungsten Markets

As Director of Global Sales & Procurement, Adam is well-positioned to guide Tungco through the evolving landscape of global tungsten markets. With his deep technical knowledge from 74 Alloys, extensive relationship network, and strategic location in Montreal, he represents the kind of leadership that will drive Tungco’s continued international growth.

His approach combines Tungco’s foundational values—built “in backyards and barns, by hands that understood both hard work and heavy metal”—with the sophisticated global reach needed to serve international markets effectively.

Industry Impact and Brand Awareness

Adam recognizes the importance of industry visibility and brand development. “Trade shows are an incredible opportunity to increase our brand awareness,” he explains. This focus on building Tungco’s global reputation aligns with the company’s mission to provide exceptional service through sustainable global sourcing and robust financial practices.

For suppliers and customers in the tungsten industry, Adam Rubin represents the best of both worlds: deep technical expertise combined with genuine personal connection. His leadership in global sales and procurement positions Tungco to continue its legacy of reclamation—not just of metals, but of relationships and opportunities—on an increasingly international scale.

Connecting with Tungco’s Global Team

Whether you’re generating tungsten scrap from manufacturing operations, seeking reliable tungsten carbide supply, or exploring tungsten alloy applications, Adam and the Tungco team are committed to their core value: “Whatever it Takes.”

From Montreal to Madisonville, Kentucky, and points around the globe, Tungco continues to build on its foundation of relationship-driven business, sustainable practices, and exceptional service—with leaders like Adam Rubin ensuring these values translate effectively across international markets.
